AnimationAlien artefacts II
Collection of unknown materials:
Alien artefacts, floating out there in galactic space.
Perhaps on their way to something we do not know. Maybe not even awake.
Perhaps they are slumbering, dreaming about real aliens, even as strange as us.

Usually photographs are good at recording space, while video is required to capture time as well.
However, in this collection I have tried to include both time and space in a photo, by long exposure.
This may loose details, but instead gain a sense of movement and direction.

Sometimes buildings are wrapped in various materials for various purposes. Whether it is for art or repair, the result is still a mysterious surface, an anomaly.
There is of course a practical aspect of wrapping stuff, protection of content.
But also a surprise element; gifts too are wrapped, to keep content a secret...

Light is normally only the means to create a photographic image. But here I've crossed the line: Light has become the motive itself.
In this collection I have broken two fundamental rules: Make sure there's enough light, and keep the camera still.
Instead I went out into the night, and kept the camera moving while photographing moving objects.
No flash, but long exposure. Photographing in the dark and shaking the lens at any photon drifting by. Sounds like a recipé for chaos?
Yes, most of the times, but now and then new order arise from chaos, presenting views I would never have envisioned myself.
It sounds like a paradox, yet such photos may be shaken and still sharp....

Humans know the art of creating and manipulating fire, as the only animal on this planet.
Maybe that's why we also love to play with it. Even though it can be a hungry beast...

The sky is an eternal kaleidoscape. Never repeating, yet always returning. Here are skies from Denmark, north-western Copenhagen, where I live...
Water condensed as drops, hanging or clinging to plastic or glass. Remains of rain or evolved from dew.
Shaped like pearls but glittering like diamonds. Tiny lenses scattered, random magnifying moments...

Googles new Street View
From 2D to 3D: Recently Google Street View appeared even in smaller capitals like Copenhagen. But how much had been included?
I decided to start somewhere in central city, and here everything was now 3D. Then I followed the same route home through the map, as I would have done in real life.
As I moved further away from the central areas, I kept wondering when I would encounter the flat map again; when would 3D shift back to 2D? But, it never did... |
Music of the spheres
Does astronomy as music make any sense? Yes, here's the sound of stars slowly revolving: wheelof.com/stars/ |
